Dartford Theatre Application Submitted

On behalf of Dartford Borough Council (in collaboration with Trafalgar Theatres) Contour Planning has submitted a planning application for a new temporary theatre in Dartford.

The new venue (to be called the Orchard West Theatre) comprises a modular 2,265 sqm facility, designed to operate whilst essential repairs take place at the town's Orchard Theatre, following the discovery of ‘Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete’ (RAAC).

Designed as a state-of-the-art venue, the temporary theatre will house 1,091 seats, foyer and bar area, a large platform stage, dressing rooms and additional backstage amenities.

The new venue will host a comprehensive lineup of performances throughout the next 12 months, including this year's festive pantomime, "Beauty & The Beast."
